WayPoints Mod performance & FPS tips

WayPoints Mod is light by design, but a few habits keep everything smooth — especially inside heavy modpacks. Here are practical tips to protect your FPS while keeping the navigation you rely on.

Hide markers you are not using

Dozens of visible beacons across a base can add unnecessary clutter. Toggle off markers you do not currently need; you can bring them back any time from the waypoint list.

Trim the HUD

If the compass strip feels busy, disable elements you do not use, such as the coordinate readout or extra labels. A cleaner HUD is easier to read and lighter to render.

Pair it wisely: if you also run a full minimap mod, you may not need both. See WayPoints Mod vs minimap mods to decide.

Keep your loader updated

An up-to-date Forge or NeoForge often includes performance and stability fixes. Update the loader when you update the mod, and always keep versions matched.

Manage your whole modpack

Performance is rarely one mod's fault. Allocate reasonable RAM, keep your graphics settings sensible, and consider a performance-focused optimisation mod alongside your pack. WayPoints Mod plays nicely with a tidy setup.

Fewer, clearer waypoints

A focused set of well-named markers beats a wall of them. Group by colour, remove markers you have outgrown, and your HUD stays fast and readable.

Start clean

If you ever notice slowdowns, test with a minimal set of mods to find the real cause. When WayPoints Mod is the only change and things run fine, you know your navigation layer is not the bottleneck. New here? Install from the download section.
